A Santorini Wedding

Last week my dear friend Malin from back home in Sweden got married at the beautiful Island of Santorini in Greece. It was a real fairy tale wedding and we all cried our eyes out watching her getting married to her Jonas.
The ceremony took place on a roof garden with a magnificent view overlooking the sea and the volcano island.
Afterwards we where taken to a remote beach where they had their reception at a taverna with hundreds of lit candles and a big traditional Greek buffet.
It was an absolutely amazing day! Here are some of the pictures I took on the wedding day.

Home made cards

Last week I made a couple of birthday cards for my mum's and grandmothers birthday. It's always a bit sad when it's someone's birthday and you're far away that you can't be there to celebrate with them.
So instead I try to make personalised cards instead of  buying them to put that little bit of extra effort in to show my family that I love and miss them..

I covered my grandma's card in a bird print fabric and used a ribbon to hide the edges, and  then painted a small tree branch white and sewed it on.

And for my mums card I used orange and eggshell paper and glued on a left over piece of  this 1970's printed wallpaper which I had left over from the doll house that I'm doing up, and then glued on  two Victorian scraps.

I hope my home made little cards will find there way home to Sweden and my loved ones..

Ophelia

Here's some photo's from the current Beyond Retro in store theme "Ophelia", inspired by the pre Raphaelite painting Ophelia by John Everett Millais.
I really enjoyed dressing the mannequins for this theme. For the Red head mannequin I also drew inspiration from the traditional Swedish Hammerdal folk costume that my mum wore for her wedding. I wish I had a photo to show you, I will look for their wedding photo next time I'm home to show you what it looks like.

Over all when I was creating these look a big source of inspiration was my friend Kelly-Marie aka A Harem of Peacocks amazing sense of style who was the VM in Soho before me. She's moved to Bournemouth and I really miss her, but I keep track of her and what she's up to on her blog which is a wonderful vintage affair.
She's a real life Ophelia ♥
